Claude Giroux represents Philadelphia Flyers well at 2019 NHL All-Star Game

Claude Giroux did a great job representing the Philadelphia Flyers during the 2019 NHL All-Star Game in San Jose this weekend.
Despite how much of a roller coaster this season has been for the Philadelphia Flyers, the good news is Claude Giroux still managed to play well enough to represent the team this weekend in San Jose during the 2019 NHL All-Star Game.
So far, Giroux already has 14 goals to go along with 38 assists in 48 games for the Flyers during the 2018-19 season, making it easy to see why he was able to earn one of the spots on the Metropolitan Division roster.
Not only did the Metropolitan Division finish victorious on the weekend with wins over Atlantic Division and Central Division, but Giroux certainly made his presence felt by scoring a goal in the championship game along with an assist in the semi-finals.
Take this into consideration along with all of the entertainment Gritty provided for fans over the last couple of days, it was great weekend for Philadelphia and their fans since this season hasn’t exactly gone according to plan.
Between the firing of both Ron Hextall and Dave Hakstol along with losing eight games in a row at one point, it’s easy to see why this season hasn’t exactly been smooth for Giroux along with the rest of his Flyers teammates.
However, Philadelphia does deserve some credit for their impressive play before All-Star Weekend after watching the team win four of their last five games, including three in a row.
Getting back into the playoff conversation certainly won’t be easy for the Flyers since they currently trail the Pittsburgh Penguins by 14 points for the final spot at the moment, but crazier things have happened in the NHL, and counting this team out now would be foolish.
Of course, if Philadelphia is going to have any shot at making a surprise playoff run, the team is going to need all of the help they can get from players like Giroux.
Luckily for the Flyers, Giroux gives them plenty of reasons to believe it could happen since he’s clearly one of the best in the NHL for a reason, as this past weekend even showed once again.
As for what’s next, Philadelphia will host the Winnipeg Jets on Monday looking to earn their fourth win in a row to keep those slim playoff hopes alive.
Maybe if the Flyers are lucky, Giroux will find a way to contribute as well to give this a better chance of happening, whether it’s from scoring goals or dishing out assists, especially after watching him come up big for the Metropolitan Division this weekend.
