3 players Eagles should target from Jaguars in potential Nick Foles trade
By Dan Parzych
Here are three potential players the Philadelphia Eagles should consider targeting from the Jacksonville Jaguars if they were to explore a possible trade.
With the offseason officially underway for the Philadelphia Eagles, one of the biggest topics of discussion moving forward will be what the future holds for Nick Foles with the team.
As much as some Eagles fans want Foles to be the quarterback moving forward, the organization has made it clear that Carson Wentz is going to be the starter moving forward, and this is the right decision, whether some of those want to hear it or not.
Back in 2016, Philadelphia made all of those moves to trade up in the draft to land Wentz at No. 2, and while there have been bumps in the road over the last two seasons injury wise, he’s still the best option for the team in the long run.
What Foles has been able to accomplish over the last two seasons has truly been amazing for Eagles fans to witness, and the base will forever be thankful for all the former Super Bowl MVP has done, but now comes the fun part of the offseason.
Unfortunately, all signs point to Philadelphia and Foles parting ways at some point this offseason, mainly due to the fact that he’s going to be too expensive to keep around in 2019.
Out of respect, if Foles does end up being part of a trade in the next couple of months, there’s a good chance the Eagles will do whatever it takes to make sure he’s happy by sending him to a team the quarterback prefers.
Right away, the Jacksonville Jaguars have stood out as a potential landing spot for Foles when looking at all of the issues this team deal with at quarterback in 2018 after Blake Bortles took a step back yet again as a major disappointment.
Not to mention, the Jaguars recently hired former Eagles quarterback coach John DeFilippo as their new offensive coordinator, meaning Foles would have another opportunity to work with someone who played a key role last year at his magical Super Bowl run.
Draft picks tend to be used the most in trades like this, but since discussion has been heating up this week about potential players on the Jaguars that would look good on the Eagles, it only seems fair to discuss which ones should be targeted in a possible deal involving Foles.
So if a potential deal involving Foles to the Jaguars were to end up being in the works down the road, here are three players the Eagles should attempt to acquire to put them in better shape for the 2019 season.
