Philadelphia Eagles: 7-Round 2019 mock draft following Divisional Round defeat
By Dan Parzych
Round 5: Penn State OL Ryan Bates
As mentioned before, it’s going to be easy to see what happens with the Eagles offensive line when looking at some of the uncertainty with players like Kelce and Peters.
Rightfully so, it would be understandable if either of these two would end up deciding to call it a career when looking at all of the work both Kelce and Peters have put in over the years, as all good things must come to an end at some point.
Even if Kelce or Peters decide to stick around for 2019, Philadelphia will look to the upcoming draft to build to the future since it would benefit rookies to learn behind two of the all-time greats to ever suit up in midnight green.
There’s no doubt that Penn State is going to miss having Ryan Bates after the offensive line announced a few weeks ago his plans to enter this year’s draft. And while his name may not be called early on in the first or second round, Bates seems work taking a risk on in one of the mid rounds when seeing how he could mold into a solid NFL lineman with the right coaching.
Bates has paved the way with the proper protection on offense for the Nittany Lions over the years with his run-blocking skills, and the Eagles could even use him at guard if needed.
