Philadelphia Eagles: 7-Round 2019 mock draft following Divisional Round defeat
By Dan Parzych
Round 2: Kansas State OT Dalton Risner
With all of the rumors surrounding Jason Kelce possibly retiring along with the fact that Jason Peters‘ future always seems to be up in the air, Philadelphia will most likely use the offseason to add some depth to the offensive line.
Assuming this happens to be the case, chances are the Eagles will look to add an offensive lineman early on in the draft, whether it happens to be in the first or second round.
The good news for Philadelphia is thanks to a trade last year with the Baltimore Ravens, the team will have two picks to work with in the second round. And if they happen to use one of those picks on an offensive lineman, Dalton Risner out of Kansas State is a name worth monitoring since the second round seems like the perfect spot for the Kansas State star.
Even if Risner needed a little time to develop once he got to the NFL, his skills as a run blocker would certainly benefit the Eagles on the offensive line.
Plus, with Carson Wentz coming off another concerning injury, Philadelphia could use a protector like Risner to make their quarterback feel more comfortable under center.
