New York Giants: Nick Foles

So with Wentz remaining the starter in Philadelphia, where does Nick Foles end up? How about the New York Giants. The Super Bowl 52 MVP could take the trip up the New Jersey Turnpike to East Rutherford to suit up for the Eagles division rival.

First of all, for this to happen, the Giants must move on from Eli Manning. Something that seems very likely heading into this offseason. After that, there are a lot of avenues the Giants could explore when it comes to finding Manning’s successor.

They could look to the draft, and they might do that, but none of the incoming rookie quarterbacks seem to be NFL ready quite yet. They could always sign a bridge quarterback until that rookie is ready or even an experienced veteran who can win games when placed in the right situation.

Foles makes a ton of sense for the Giants. New York’s coach Pat Shurmur was his offensive coordinator in Philadelphia for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Everyone remembers the remarkable numbers Foles put up in 2013 with Shurmur, so reuniting the two makes too much sense.

The Eagles could trade Foles, but it seems likely they will just decline to pick up his $20 million option and allow him to become a free agent. After that, he will look for a starting job, and that very well might be in New York. Don’t be surprised if Foles is the Giants starting quarterback on opening day of the 2019 season.
