Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has taken a ton of flak over his three years in the NFL so far. All Prescott has done is go 32-16 in his first three seasons, making the postseason twice. The one season Prescott did not make the playoffs, 2017, he went 9-7.

Prescott is not someone who is going to light the world on fire or fill up the stat sheet. He is only averaging 226.6 yards per game in his career and has thrown 23,22, and 22 touchdowns respectively in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Dallas and Prescott were under a lot of fire when they fell to 3-5 at the midpoint of the 2018 season. Since then, they proceeded to go 7-1 to finish the 2018 season 10-6. It appears that the Cowboys will look to lock up Prescott long-term this offseason.

Prescott is still extremely cheap, and he will likely play 2019 on the final season of his rookie deal, which would have him count only $815,000 against the cap. But, don’t be surprised to see him and the Cowboys agree to some extension before the 2019 season begins.

There are still a lot of doubts surrounding Prescott, but there is little doubt that Dallas views him as their franchise quarterback. If Prescott can continue his winning ways, then there is little doubt that he is the answer in Dallas in 2019 and beyond.
