Predicting each NFL teams starting quarterback on opening day 2019
By Jake Starr
Seattle Seahawks: Russell Wilson
There may be no quarterback in the league that is more consistent or more reliable than Seattle Seahawks gunslinger Russell Wilson. Wilson has not missed a game in his seven-year career and has only missed out on the postseason once in 2017.
Wilson is the true definition of a winner as he has never had a losing season and sports a career record of 75-36-1. In 2018, Wilson set a career high in touchdown passes with 35 and tied a career low in interceptions with seven.
The quarterback out of Wisconsin will be entering the final year of his contract in 2019, so it would be safe to assume that there will be contract extension talks heading into next season. Wilson will likely be the league’s highest-paid passer when he signs his next deal.
Only 30-years old, Wilson still had plenty of his best football still ahead of him. If Seattle can continue to surround him with talent on both sides of the ball, then there is a strong chance that Wilson can capture another Lombardi Trophy before his career is over.
Seattle has one of the most stable quarterback situations in the NFL and has nothing to worry about regarding their long-term future at that position. Wilson is the guy in Seattle for now, and for a long time.
