Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston

Many thought 2018 was going to be it for Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston. Winston missed time this season due to a suspension and being benched for poor play. The Florida State product went 3-6 in his nine starts in 2018.

Tampa Bay already announced that their plans are to stick with Winston as their starting quarterback going into the 2019 season. Hopefully, a new coach can revitalize Winston and tap into some of his potential.

Winston’s best season came in 2016 when he went 9-7 as a starter. Overall, Winston is 21-33 in his career. He is eligible to sign a long-term extension this offseason, but odds are he will play the 2019 season under his fifth-year option.

2019 will be a huge season for Winston. If he plays well, then Tampa could commit to him long-term. But, if Winston struggles yet again, then odds are the Buccaneers will decide to move on from Winston and look elsewhere for a quarterback.

Winston will only be 25 years old when the 2019 season begins so he is still fairly young. Can he finally put it all together and show why Tampa Bay selected him with the first overall pick in the 2015 draft? That remains to be seen.
