Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers

There is no question to who the starting quarterback will be for the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers will be starting his 12th season in 2019. 2018 was a down year for the Packers as a whole, going 6-9-1, but not for Rodgers, as he threw 25 touchdowns to only two interceptions.

After making the playoffs every year from 2009-2016, Green Bay has missed the postseason the last two years, leading to the firing of head coach Mike McCarthy. Many hope the dismissal of McCarthy revitalizes Rodgers and the Packers back into the postseason.

Rodgers was hurt for much of 2017 and played in all 16 games this past season but was not 100 percent healthy for most of it. Despite that, and everything else that went against him, Rodgers still put up superstar numbers. Rodgers is not the problem in Green Bay.

Going into 2019 at 35 years old, the window is going to start closing for Rodgers to capture his second championship. Rodgers is still arguably the most talented quarterback in the league, but Green Bay can’t keep wasting the prime years of one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Rodgers is under contract in Green Bay until the 2023 season. He will be 40 years old when his current contract is up, so there is a strong possibility this is the last contract of his career. So for now, the Packers are in good shape at quarterback, but they must make sure they take full advantage of Rodgers before it is too late.
