Score early and often

These past two weeks have been the best offensive performances the Eagles have put together this season. The switch from Wentz to Foles has appeared to provide some life into this Eagles offense, but overall, everyone has played a lot better.

Last Sunday, the Eagles got up 29-16 in the fourth quarter and could not put the Texans away. A fumble allowed Houston to come back and take a 30-29 lead. Luckily the Eagles won, but their playoffs hope were almost dashed because they couldn’t put the Texans away.

The Eagles are the better team when matched up against Washington, and Philadelphia’s offense is miles ahead of what Washington has on that side of the ball. Previously when these teams met, the Eagles completely dominated offensively and were able to eventually put the Redskins away.

On Sunday, the Eagles need to leave no doubt. They need to continue to jump ahead early and tack on the points throughout. The Eagles cannot even give the Redskins a glimmer of hope in this game.  The offense needs to keep clicking, and the defense needs to shut down Washington’s sub-par offense.

The Eagles offense is finally rolling and with another strong performance on Sunday could give the Eagles some momentum going into the postseason should they qualify. Getting out to a big lead early can allow fans to pay attention to what is going on in Minnesota as the game winds down.
