The Philadelphia Eagles head down to Landover, Maryland to take on the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Here are three keys to a pivotal Week 17 win.

For the first time since 2013, the Philadelphia Eagles will play in a meaningful Week 17 game. This time around though, the Eagles do not control their own destiny to make the postseason. But, a win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday will go a long way in helping the Eagles get there.

Two weeks ago, the Eagles were 6-7, and Carson Wentz was shut down with a back injury. It felt like the season was over, and the defending Super Bowl champions would be left out of the postseason. Then Nick Foles happened… again.

Foles led the Eagles to a 30-23 win over the Rams and then to a thrilling 32-30 win over the Texans last Sunday. Now, sitting at 8-7, the Eagles go into Week 17 right in the thick of the playoff race, but the Eagles need some help to get there.

To keep it simple, the Eagles need to win on Sunday, and the Bears to go into Minnesota and beat the Vikings. If that happens, then the Eagles will make the playoffs as the NFC’s sixth seed. If the Eagles lose or Vikings win, then the defending champs will see themselves on the outside looking in.

After being knocked out of the playoff race last week, Washington will be looking to play spoiler on Sunday. The Redskins will be led by their fourth quarterback of the season in Josh Johnson. The Eagles must stop Johnson if they wish to win this game and sneak into the playoffs.

Clearly, the Eagles need help. But to return to the playoffs, they have to take care of business against the Redskins on Sunday. How can they do that? Here are three keys to an Eagles win plus a prediction!
