Believe it or not, Carter Hart has the Philadelphia Flyers on a two-game winning streak following Thursday’s victory over the Nashville Predators.

Since the end of November, it’s been quite interesting for the Philadelphia Flyers when seeing how the team fired former general manager Ron Hextall before doing the same this week with Dave Hakstol.

However, when looking at how Carter Hart has won each of his first two starts in net this week, there’s all of a sudden some excitement surrounding the Flyers in what seems like the first time in forever.

Philadelphia knew they simply had nothing to lose when it came to calling Hart up from their Lehigh Valley affiliate when seeing how at the time, the team was sitting on the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

In fact, despite the high expectations surrounding Hart when the Flyers decided to use a second-round pick on the goaltender back in 2016, nobody really knew what to expect from him earlier this week when Philadelphia took on the Detroit Red Wings.

Thanks to strong support from the fan base in attendance along with Philadelphia finding a way to net a few goals, Hart was victorious in his NHL debut after defeating Detroit 3-2. And while some fans made the argument that Detroit wasn’t the most competitive team for Hart to face in his debut, he certainly came through against a playoff-caliber team in Nashville.

Just a few days after coming through with 20 saves to help take down the Red Wings, Hart looked even sharper against the Predators by only allowing one goal to go along with 31 saves.

Even though it’s only been two games, this Flyers squad looks like a completely different team since Hart took over at goaltender this week.

Obviously, Hart still has a long way to go when it comes to proving to be the answer Philadelphia has been waiting to see in net, but when looking at how things have been this season, fans deserve to be excited over what has taken place over the last few days.

With another opportunity to take down a playoff-caliber team in the Columbus Blue Jackets, it will be interesting to see if Hart can continue his magic for Flyers fans once again come Saturday.

If Hart does in fact come through, maybe there will still be hope for Philadelphia after all during the young 2018-19 season.
