Villanova basketball fans should be thrilled to be part of the FanSided Fandom 250 after watching the Wildcats win it all last season.

Last spring, the Villanova basketball team pulled the unthinkable by putting together an epic March Madness run when it mattered the most to win their second championship in three seasons to heat up the dynasty talk.

When seeing how the Wildcats have looked at times, early signs point to this team having a difficult path to winning it all once again for the third time in four years.

But on a positive note, at least Villanova has managed to turn things around following two tough losses in a row to the Michigan Wolverines and Furman Paladins by winning each of their last six games.

Not to mention, the Wildcats are fortunate to have one of the stronger fan bases in the country that will always be cheering hard for their beloved team.

In fact, with Villanova earning that second title in three years last season, it’s safe to say this helped the fan base reach a whole new level, which is just one of many reasons why they were mentioned in this year’s Fandom 250 by FanSided.

Over the last couple of years, FanSided has taken the time to rank the best fan bases in the country, whether it involves sports or simply entertainment.

Barely coming in at No. 246 may not seem like that big of a deal since there were 250 fan bases to make the list, but just being on the list after missing out last year should give Villanova fans plenty to cheer about.

Also, it’s safe to assume the Wildcats would have ended up much higher on the list if their football team were more popular like some of the other schools like Alabama or Michigan.

Then again, the fact that Villanova was still able to earn one of the 25 spots by college teams on the list as a result of mostly being known for their basketball team shows just how special of a squad Jay Wright’s team tends to have.

Hopefully by the time March rolls around, the fan base will feel a lot better about the Wildcats chances in making another epic run in the tournament since this year once again has plenty of amazing contenders to choose from.
