NFL Power Rankings, Week 14: Eagles look to keep NFC East race interesting
By Dan Parzych
7. New England Patriots
When seeing some of the inconsistency surrounding this team at times, the New England Patriots were in need of a statement win, and luckily they were able to do so with the Minnesota Vikings in town during Week 13. The Vikings made it close at times, but as usual, the Patriots figured out a way to turn on the jets when it mattered the most to eventually pull off the 24-10 win.
Thanks to the win, New England is on their way to yet another division title when considering they have a three-game lead over the Miami Dolphins with four games to go. But as every Patriots fan knows, the main focus surrounding this team is to catch up to the Kansas City Chiefs to earn the No. 1 seed in the AFC for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Nobody needs to tell the Patriots just how much of a difference it can be playing in front of their own fans, and with two tough upcoming games on the road, at least New England ends the year with two games at home. There aren’t going to be many occasions when the Patriots win with Tom Brady only tossing one touchdown pass, but that was exactly the case on Sunday.
