NFL Power Rankings, Week 14: Eagles look to keep NFC East race interesting
By Dan Parzych
10. Pittsburgh Steelers
Two losses in a row for the Pittsburgh Steelers? As much as the Steelers shouldn’t feel concerned, it’s tough to ignore the fact that the Baltimore Ravens have won three games in a row, and are back alive in the race for the AFC North title.
Sitting with a comfortable 23-7 lead for most of the third quarter, Pittsburgh seemed like they were in well control of defeating the Los Angeles Chargers before it all fell apart. Coming up on the losing end 33-30 in a game like this brings all sorts of frustration to a team like the Steelers, and it’s crazy to think this was a team in position to battle for a first-round bye to now being in a fight just to win the division.
For the sake of Pittsburgh, let’s hope the injury surrounding James Conner only ends up being minor since it would be crushing to see the youngster miss time this late in the season with everything on the line. Up next, the Steelers better be in better shape to defeat the Oakland Raiders since after that, Mike Tomlin’s team faces the New England Patriots in what should be another epic battle if the last couple of years are any indication of what’s in store.
