19. Miami Dolphins

At the beginning of the season, the Miami Dolphins were viewed as one of the early surprise contenders in the AFC thanks to a 3-0 start before things slowly started to fall apart. Losing six of their next eight games following that impressive first month was the last thing the Dolphins had in mind for 2018, but the good news for Adam Gase’s team is they’re still in the hunt for a playoff spot in the AFC.

Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills was closer than expected, but the important factor is Miami came through on the winning end to get back to 6-6 on the season. Even more important, Ryan Tannehill looked healthy for the second week in a row, and could be the difference maker when it comes to seeing whether this Dolphins team has what it takes to earn a Wild Card spot since the New England Patriots will most likely win the division again.

Of course, with upcoming games against the Patriots and Minnesota Vikings, Miami’s schedule makes their path to the playoffs even more difficult. Then again, this will be a good test for the Dolphins to see where they stand against some of the top contenders in the NFL.
