Play like your season is on the line

Let’s be completely honest here; this is it. If the Eagles do not win this game, then their season is over. 5-7 is too big of a hole to dig out of to make it back to the postseason. 6-6, on the other hand, gives you a much better shot and allows the Eagles to go into Dallas next week with a chance at first place in the NFC East.

After everything that has gone down this season, the Eagles are still in it. Their chances to go back to the playoffs are very much alive, but they need to take advantage of the opportunity that lies before them. They need to play on Monday night as if their season depends on it because quite frankly, it does.

The Eagles were down 19-3 last week and knew that if they lost that game, then their season was pretty much over. Then a spark was lit, and the Eagles roared back and won 25-22. The Eagles were in desperation mode, and for the first time, they responded.

Well now, the Eagles are in desperation mode on Monday and for the rest of the season. They need to come out and play as they did in the second half of the Giants game. Hopefully, that second half gave them a spark that they can carry over the season’s final five games.

This team won the Super Bowl last season; they have dealt with adversity before. They lost their MVP quarterback last year but continued to battle and found a way in the end. This team has injuries and has been through plenty of adversity, can they lean on that prior experience and put together a run? They’ve done it before. So why not?
