Philadelphia Eagles: Three keys to a Week 13 win over Washington Redskins
By Jake Starr
The Washington Redskins come to town for a Monday night matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. Here are three keys to an Eagles win.
For the second week in a row, the Philadelphia Eagles will take the field with their backs up against the wall. This time, it will be against the Washington Redskins on Monday night football. A win will put the Eagles at 6-6, a loss all but ends their playoff chances.
The Eagles could have received help on Thursday night if the New Orleans Saints beat the Dallas Cowboys, but that was not the case as Dallas won 13-10. Looking ahead, if the Eagles win on Monday night and then win in Dallas the following Sunday, they will be tied for first place at 7-6.
That is a lot to accomplish, and before the Eagles think ahead to that Dallas match up, they need to take care of business on Monday against the Redskins. Washington is now led by quarterback Colt McCoy after Alex Smith was lost for the season with a broken leg.
The Washington offense is very pedestrian and should not be able to put up a ton of points on the Eagles. Their defense, on the other hand, is a big reason why the Redskins still sit above .500. This could possibly be a game where points come at a premium.
How can the Eagles jump on the Redskins and come away with their sixth win of the season? Also, in what ways can the Eagles take advantage of Washington? Continue on for three keys to an Eagles’ win plus a prediction!
