The Philadelphia Eagles will be focused on Thursday’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints to see if they receive some extra help in the NFC East race.

Thanks to earning a tough win at home last weekend over the New York Giants, the Philadelphia Eagles are in a position where they could actually be tied for first place in the NFC East by the conclusion of Week 13.

With the defending champions hosting the Washington Redskins on Monday night in what is expected to be another tough divisional showdown, the Eagles will obviously need to win this game in order for this scenario to take place.

However, Philadelphia will also need some help on Thursday from the New Orleans Saints, as the NFC South leaders will hit the road for a meeting with a team in Dallas that has been heating up in recent weeks.

As Eagles fans remember well, the Cowboys were on the verge of falling even further in the division race before they fought hard for a tough win in Philadelphia, which was the first of three wins in a row.

When looking at the momentum they’re playing with at the moment, Dallas has every reason in the world to feel confident in their chances of taking down New Orleans, especially since the Cowboys will be playing in front of their own fans.

But when seeing how the Saints are the hottest team in the NFL at the moment with 10 wins in a row following a rough start in Week 1, the Eagles have plenty of reasons to be excited about the possibility of the Cowboys coming up short in this one.

The high level of confidence New Orleans is playing with at the moment is absolutely ridiculous when looking at some of the teams they have taken down during their winning streak, whether it was the Los Angeles Rams or Minnesota Vikings.

In general, playing on the road in Dallas is never an easy task to handle, but the mindset New Orleans has right now makes them feel confident in taking down any team standing in their way to earn that No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff picture.

If this happens to be the case, and the Saints do in fact end up with the win over the Cowboys on Thursday, the Eagles better be ready to take advantage of the situation come Monday night.

Otherwise, all of the effort to get back into the NFC East hunt will look like a complete waste if they can’t even beat a Redskins team playing with Colt McCoy as a replacement for the injured Alex Smith.
