NFL Power Rankings: Philadelphia Eagles keep hope alive in Week 13
27. Jacksonville Jaguars
Once upon a time, the Jacksonville Jaguars were considered a potential Super Bowl contender capable of representing the AFC in Super Bowl 53.
But then they actually had to play some games, and boy did everything change.
After winning three of their first four games of the season, including an AFC Championship game rematch against the New England Patriots in Week 2, the Jaguars went on a seven-game losing streak in one of the ugliest collapses in recent memory.
From Blake Bortles inconsistent play to Leonard Fournette‘s consistent injuries, to the team’s very public infighting, the Jaguars are quietly imploding in on themselves as the season winds down, and may very well find themselves picking in the top-5 of the 2019 NFL Draft after a brief stint out of the basement.
Who knows, maybe they’ll use a premium pick to finally address the quarterback position, and take a second shot at winning big while their current crop of players are still affordable?
Whatever the team decides to do moving forward, if 2018 is of any indication, this team needs a serious facelift to make their way back to the postseason. However, unlike many another team in the league, this squad may be too internally fractured to simply add few new players in the draft, they may have to do some addition by subtraction as well.
