After amassing a 9-2 record over the first 11 games of the season, Andy Reid‘s Kansas City Cheifs squad finally get a week to sit back, relax, and prepare for what could be a very long back half of the season.
With their most challenging game remaining on their schedule coming in Week 15 when the Los Angeles Chargers come to town for an AFC West winner-take-all bout, it seems almost inevitable that this season’s Chiefs squad will finish out the season with at least a 13-3 record as they breeze into the playoffs with home-field advantage.
Patrick Mahomes has been an absolute godsend for the Chiefs and looks every bit of a true franchise quarterback, even if he is the beneficiary of one of the most explosive stables of offensive weapons in the league, and a coach that somehow engineers open looks on virtually every play.
And after taking part in one of the most entertaining regular season shootouts in recent memory, the team’s Week 11 54-51 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the Chiefs know exactly what they need to do to get things done down the stretch.
Who knows, maybe the Rams and Chiefs will meet again before the season’s over. But since they aren’t in the same conference, there’s only one way that could happen…
