NFL Power Rankings: Philadelphia Eagles keep hope alive in Week 13
5. Chicago Bears
Sometimes a team just has to find a way to win.
Sometimes, a team just has to will themselves past a collection of unfortunate events in the pursuit of the ever elusive W, even if that means having to start Chase Daniel on Thanksgiving.
That’s the exact situation the Chicago Bears found themselves in on Thursday afternoon when the team had to take their show on the road to face off against their division rivals the Detroit Lions in front of the entire country.
As I previously stated, it wasn’t pretty, but for a surprisingly good team like the Bears, who sit pretty atop the NFC North with an 8-3 record, those ugly wins are essential to establishing dominance in a hard-nosed division that’s theirs for the taking.
Now granted, the Bears do need to get Mitch Trubisky back of they are going to return to their usual super-powered form, but with a loaded defense filled with playmakers like Khalil Mack, Adrian Amos, and Eddie Jackson, it looks like Chicago’s built to contend both now and moving forward.
Not to add insult to injury, but the 2018 Bears look a lot like the 2017 Philadelphia Eagles and could find their season ending with similar results.
