NFL Power Rankings: Philadelphia Eagles keep hope alive in Week 13
6. Los Angeles Chargers
Are the Los Angeles Chargers a good football team? Most certainly.
Sure, they’ve lost every game they’ve played against teams with winning records, save for the Seattle Seahawks, who weren’t in the black at the time, but the Chargers didn’t choose their schedule, and can only make the most of their situation.
I would say 8-3 through 11 games is taking advantage of their situation pretty darn well.
While their Week 12 game against the Arizona Cardinals was hardly something to write home about, as the team was so dominant in their 45-10 victory that they gave Geno Smith some surprise playing time down the stretch, it did signify the return of Joey Bosa to the Bolts’ defense, a sight that’s been sorely missing so far this season.
With Bosa back and a fifth seed wild-card berth firmly in striking distance, the Chargers will have to test their mettle against the likes of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Baltimore Ravens over the final five weeks of the season.
If they can come out with 10, 11, or even 12 wins we could be looking at a team with a legitimate chance to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, and if not, well the doubters right all along.
But for my (fictitious) money, this team looks like the real deal.
