32. New York Jets

When Sam Darnold is on the field, the Jet are not a good team.

Exciting? Sure, but good? Eh not really.

But when the Darnold is unable to play, and Josh McCown‘s number is called, boy, the Jets are a bad, bad football team.

That was the case in Week 12 when the New York Jets graciously welcomed the New England Patriots to the Meadowlands in New Jersey.

After going out to an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter, and entering halftime tied up at 10-all, the Patriots did what we all assumed they would do and blew out the Jets in the second half, outscoring the Todd Bowles‘ squad 10-3 in route to final score of 27-13; a score that looks a whole lot closer than the actual game ever appeared to be.

Unfortunately for Jets fans, this is just not the team’s year, and it seems incredibly unlikely that this squad, as currently constructed, will ever be able to challenge for the AFC East.

Will the Jet opt to clean house this offseason and rehire a brand new staff tailor-made to developing Darnold into their next great franchise quarterback? More likely than not, but until then, fan in the Big Apple will have to turn their eyes to the Brooklyn Nets, as they are actually playing surprisingly well.
