NFL Power Rankings: Philadelphia Eagles keep hope alive in Week 13
23. Atlanta Falcons
This may be a hot take, but this will be the first season since 2014 that the Atlanta Falcons finish out an NFL season with a losing record.
Now granted, is this really that hot of a take, when you consider the team is 4-7 with games against the Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers, and Baltimore Ravens, but still, the Falcons’ collapse from a Super Bowl contender to NFL irrelevancy has been pretty incredible to watch, especially with the team’s roster more or less in tact from a season ago.
And if you’re a team looking for an opportunity to turn things around, you really don’t want to have to face off against the New Orleans Saints on their home turf.
With the eyes of the nation firmly fixed on the Big Easy, Matt ‘-y Ice’ Ryan, Julio Jones, and Calvin Ridley attempted to win a shootout against Drew Brees and Sean Payton, in what may be the most daunting task in the NFL right now.
If a brilliant offensive mind like Sean McVay couldn’t pull that off with the loaded Los Angeles Rams how could the Falcons be expected to do the same with Steve Sarkisian calling plays?
Until the Falcons get their Sark problem figured out, they will continue to struggle to win games; it’s just that simple.
