The Philadelphia Eagles would love to see Carson Wentz match his first performance against the New York Giants during Week 12.

Thanks to the Dallas Cowboys taking down the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving, the Philadelphia Eagles find themselves in a position where they can be only one game back from first place in the division with a win over the New York Giants.

Unfortunately, that’s going to be easier said than done when looking at how poorly the Eagles have played in each of the last two weeks with back-to-back losses to the Cowboys and New Orleans Saints.

Up next, Philadelphia will be looking to get back on the winning track on Sunday for their second meeting of the season with New York after Doug Pederson’s came through with the 34-13 win back in October.

During that contest, it was Carson Wentz that stepped up for the Eagles on offense after having one of his better games of 2018 during that contest by completing 26 of 36 passes for 278 yards with three touchdowns.

However, Wentz’s play has sort of been inconsistent since that game against the Giants for the most part when seeing how he will look good one week, only to struggle the next. Just look at the team’s previous game in which they lost to New Orleans when Wentz put together a performance to forget after finishing with three interceptions.

Even though this disappointing outing wasn’t entirely his fault since the Eagles are pretty banged up on both sides of the football, Philadelphia will need Wentz to figure out a way to return to his elite level of play on Sunday.

The Giants may only have three wins to their name this season, but also keep in mind that two of those wins have come over their last two games, meaning they seem to be heating up at the right moment during this final stretch.

Wentz certainly had his way with the Giants’ defense the first time around, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to have similar results in Week 12.

Hopefully, when seeing how the Eagles are fighting for their playoff lives, Wentz will step up for his beloved team when needed the most while figuring out a way to overcome the injuries.

Otherwise, Philadelphia will only be digging themselves a deeper hole when it comes to having any sort of chance to win the NFC East since the start of December is right around the corner.
