Even though it may seem like a long shot, the Philadelphia 76ers should reach out to the Washington Wizards about a potential trade for Bradley Beal.

For years, John Wall and Bradley Beal were always considered serious threats by the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference, as the Washington Wizards were always considered one of the top contenders to compete with.

However, things are a bit different for the 2018-19 season when seeing how the Wizards have been one of the biggest disappointments through the first month of action, sitting at 5-11 before Tuesday’s meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Obviously, Washington still has plenty of time to turn things around since it’s only the middle of November, although there are no guarantees things are going to get better.

So what exactly does all of this have to do with the Sixers? Well, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski conducted an article for Monday about how the Wizards are indicating to teams that all players are available through a trade, which includes Beal and Wall.

When looking at the ridiculous contract that Wall is currently under, the Sixers know it would literally be impossible to bring him on board with their new Big Three hopefully being in set for years to come.

But when it comes to the possibility of Beal, one can only imagine how great of a fit he would be in Philadelphia. And while the chances of a trade like this happening since the team just gave up two previous stars in Robert Covington and Dario Saric to the Minnesota Timberwolves to land Jimmy Butler, crazier things have taken place in the NBA.

One of the main reasons why it would be interesting to see the Sixers explore this possibility if the Wizards did in fact make Beal available would be to the disappointing play behind Markelle Fultz. Even though the argument can be made that Fultz deserves more time to develop into the star Philadelphia hopes he can be, the last thing they want to see happen is the former Washington star hold the team back from reaching their true potential.

In comparison, Fultz doesn’t even come close to the high level of play Beal is on right now as one of the top shooters in the league. And if Beal were to somehow join a stellar team in the Sixers with their new Big Three, it would only increase their chances of finishing on top of the Eastern Conference when the time comes down the road.

As disappointing as it’s been to watch Washington struggle so far this season, at least this could benefit a team like Philadelphia is they were to pursue someone like Beal. The asking price certainly won’t be cheap since the Wizards know this is the one leverage they have, but luckily the Sixers are quite familiar when it comes to deal making since The Process isn’t something that just happened to take place overnight.
