9. Minnesota Vikings

A win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday night would have moved the Minnesota Vikings into first place for the NFC North along with the chance to control their own destiny the rest of the way, which unfortunately didn’t happen. From the start of the game, the Vikings just couldn’t seem to figure out a way to get anything consistent going on the offensive side of the football, and once again, Kirk Cousins deserves most of the blame.

Obviously, Cousins and the Vikings’ offense knew they were going to be in for one of their toughest challenges to date since the Bears have proven to be one of the top defensive units in the league. But when looking at the high expectations surrounding the Minnesota in the offseason after convincing Cousins to come on board with that hefty contract, anything short of winning the division should be viewed as a disappointment.

Looking ahead, the Vikings aren’t going to have any easy time playing catch up to the Bears in the division race or a playoff spot in general since their next two games are against the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots. Winning both of those games along with hoping the Bears lose isn’t going to be easy, but Minnesota has no one to blame other than themselves for being in this current position.
