14. Seattle Seahawks

They still have a lot of work to do, but the Seattle Seahawks put themselves in a much better position to make a playoff run in the NFC after coming through with a key win on Thursday over the Green Bay Packers to get back to .500 on the season. Playing on a shorter week is never fun when it comes to the NFL, but at least the Seahawks felt a little better about it knowing they earned the win before next weekend’s showdown against the Carolina Panthers.

Thanks to the Los Angeles Rams only having one loss before their Monday meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle has basically accepted the NFC West is out of reach, meaning their only chance at earning a trip to the playoffs is through one of the Wild Card spots. Talent wise, the Seahawks seem capable of making a run come January if given the opportunity, and whether or not this happens will fall on the shoulders of Russell Wilson as usual, which the quarterback is completely fine with.

Wilson doesn’t always have the best supporting cast in the world, but he’s always been the kind of quarterback that can keep any play alive, and give Seattle hope whenever their backs are against the wall.  With six games to go, don’t be surprised if Wilson manages to elevate his game to a whole new level to put the Seahawks in much better shape to earn one of those spots in the NFC.
