20. Detroit Lions

Desperation seemed like it would be kicking in for the Detroit Lions during Week 11 when hosting the Carolina Panthers after the team was looking to put an end to their three-game losing streak. Luckily, the Lions were able to hang on for the one-point win over the Panthers after Ron Rivera decided to go for the two-point conversion at the end of the game instead of the extra point, but unfortunately the victory also came with what could be a devastating loss.

Some questioned the decision by Detroit back in April to use an early draft pick on Kerryon Johnson when looking at how crowded the backfield already was, but when seeing what kind of impact he’s been making as a rookie, it’s easy to see why they selected the running back. In what could be a crushing blow to the offense if it ends up being serious, Johnson was forced to leave Sunday’s game for the Lions with a knee injury, fans will be holding their breath to see the results of Monday’s MRI.

The Lions are in a position where they’re going to need all of the points possible during this final push since they’re already at a disadvantage still being two games under .500 heading into Thanksgiving. Since Johnson will most likely miss Thursday’s meeting with the Chicago Bears, it will be interesting to see who steps up for the Lions on offense in his absence to help take some of the pressure off Matthew Stafford.
