26. San Francisco 49ers

The good news? The San Francisco 49ers may have found their new franchise quarterback and undrafted SMU signal-caller Nick Mullens.

The bad news, even if he runs the table, it may not be enough to get the team in the playoffs.

All jokes aside, the 49ers are one of the more unfortunate stories of the 2018 NFL season, as they went from potential dark horse Super Bowl candidates to a team that will all but certainly finish out the year with a losing record after losing their franchise-caliber quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to an early ACL injury.

While the team is still a tricky out, as Kyle Shanahan remains one of the premiere offense of minds in the game, the 49ers simply don’t have enough firepower to get things done on the offensive side of the ball in their current state.

However, fortunately for San Francisco, they do already have many of the building blocks needed to feel it a playoff roster, and with an offseason to get healthy and stock up on some young talent, it’s entirely possible that they could be in contention one year from now for a playoff spot.

But hey, on the bright side, at least they’ll probably beat the Giants on Monday Night Football.
