12. Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins have the best record in the NFC East, but they are about as close to fool’s gold as I have ever seen.

With lowlight wins over the Giants, Cowboys, and Cardinals puffing up their record, it’s pretty clear they are a team built to win one way, and one way only: bully ball in low scoring games.

With a rough and tumble defensive capable of shutting down the run, and a stead offense lead by the greying tandem of Adrian Peterson and Alex Smith the Redskins can get things done in the trenches, but through the air? Not so much.

If presented with a shootout, I highly doubt Jay Gruden‘s offense, which is averaging only 20 points per game would be able to hold off even an average opponent, let alone an explosive offense like that of the Rams, Chiefs, or Steelers.

However, with a two-game lead in the NFC East, it looks like the Redskins are all but guaranteed to represent the division in the playoffs in January, barring some crazy turnaround by the Eagles, the Cowboys, or the Giants (but let’s be real, it won’t be the Giants).

Buckle up NFC East fans; this is going to be another tight one.
