Get Golden Tate involved

During the bye week, Howie Roseman went out and got Wentz and Doug Pederson a shiny new toy. For the second year in a row, Roseman made a splash at the deadline, this time acquiring Golden Tate from the Detroit Lions.

Tate had some extra time to learn the playbook thanks to the bye week, but how much does he know just a week and a half after being dealt? He will play, but it will be worth paying attention to how many snaps Tate gets as his knowledge of the offense expands.

When the Eagles got Jay Ajayi, they played him a good amount just a few days later. He only had a handful of carries but made the most of them. Ajayi found the end zone from nearly 50-yards out to help lead the Eagles to a win.

A lot of the same should be expected from Tate come Sunday night. He will play a good amount, but won’t see the level of snaps that Alshon Jeffery gets on a weekly basis quite yet. When Tate is in, the Eagles need to find a way to get him the ball and utilize him in a variety of ways.

On Sunday night, expect Pederson to draw up some plays to get Tate involved. He can be used both inside and outside, so the Eagles will move him all around the field. It may take some time for him and Wentz to get on the same page, but given both of their talent levels, they should be able to get the ball rolling quite quickly.
