1. New Orleans Saints

If the New Orleans Saints were looking to make a statement in Week 9 as being the team to beat in the NFC, they certainly did so when looking at how the team handled the Los Angeles Rams, handing them their first loss of 2018. Thanks to the win, the Saints moved up to becoming the top team in the NFC at the moment, and when looking at how great this team has been playing as of late, it’s tough to imagine them losing anytime soon.

Watching Alvin Kamara find the end zone three times against Los Angeles was impressive, but there’s no question that Michael Thomas was the star player for New Orleans in this win after the former Ohio State star caught 12 passes for 211 yards to go along with a score. All game, Thomas was torching the defense of the Rams, and seeing him seal the victory by going 72 yards for a touchdown to put the Saints up 10 in the final minutes was the perfect ending for Sean Payton’s team in this one.

Of course, just like the situation with Los Angeles, New Orleans knows the worst thing they can do is become overconfident about being the team to beat since a lot can change any given week, and they only hold a one-game lead over the Carolina Panthers in the division. Still, the Saints have plenty of reasons to celebrate by winning the way they did since the team now controls their own destiny for earning the top seed in the conference.
