14. Philadelphia Eagles

The next two weeks will provide a solid understanding over where the Eagles currently stand when it comes to being contenders in the NFC since the team has two tough games in a row against the Dallas Cowboys along with the New Orleans Saints. As good as Philadelphia looked at times during their victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, this is still one of the most difficult teams to figure out at the moment when looking at how inconsistent the defending champions have been for the most part.

Then again, the Eagles do have plenty of reasons to be thrilled over the progress that Carson Wentz has been making in recent weeks when considering some of the concerns early on when it came to that knee injury of his. Watching Wentz recover as fast as he did was truly amazing since the knee injury only took place last December, and if he manages to toss multiple touchdown passes per game the way he has, maybe the quarterback could even work his way into the MVP conversation.

Of course, that’s always easier said than done since there are plenty of stronger candidates ahead of Wentz at the moment, although the addition of Golden Tate will certainly help. Wide receiver was a major issue for Philadelphia prior to the bye week, and if Tate makes an immediate impact right away, it’s certainly going to make life much easier for Wentz with running this offense.
