NFL Power Rankings, Week 10: Eagles upgrade at receiver during bye week
By Dan Parzych
22. Tennessee Titans (Play Monday Night)
Remember how not too long ago, the Tennessee Titans seemed to be working their way up the ladder of one of the top teams to beat in the AFC following a key overtime win over the Eagles? Since that game, the Titans have watched their season quickly go downhill, and if the offense doesn’t figure out a way to get out of their funk soon, these next two months could be brutal.
The fact that Tennessee only has 31 points over their last three contests, one of which happened to be a loss to the Baltimore Ravens in which they failed to score a single point, shows how bad this offense has been for the most part in recent weeks. As a result, it’s been Marcus Mariota receiving most of the blame, and rightfully so when looking at some of his disappointing numbers.
Four of the six games Mariota has appeared in this season have resulted in the former Oregon star failing to toss a single touchdown pass, and there’s simply no way to defend this kind of disappointment. Facing the Dallas Cowboys won’t be easy on Monday night, but unless Mariota figures out a way to get out of this slump, the criticism is only going to continue for the Titans quarterback.
