NFL Power Rankings Week 9: Philadelphia Eagles make a statement vs JAX
10. Philadelphia Eagles
Oh hey, speak of the devils, the Philadelphia Eagles are once again on the right side of a fourth-quarter win, and with some luck should remain in the driver’s seat of their playoff destiny moving forward.
Sure, the team had to travel to a different country to break their recent string of bad luck, but in the long haul, does that really matter? The Birds are back to .500, and we get 14 days to enjoy that fact as the team prepares to enter their Week 10 bye.
However, the team shouldn’t rest on their laurels and party it up over the next week. No, this team still isn’t playing up to the standard of excellence they set for themselves in 2017 and should do everything in their power to get that ship righted before they have to welcome the Dallas Cowboys to town for a Sunday Night Football battle for the very heart of the NFC East.
While this bout could be made a whole lot easier if Howie Roseman can once again work his GM magic and secure another marquee trade to give Doug Pederson a true bell cow running back to finally bring balance to their roster, but until that actually happens, getting better internally has to be considered a priority over superficial celebration.
