17. Chicago Bears

It’s no secret that the Chicago Bears went out of their way to emulate the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl model when they traded up to select Mitchell Trubisky with the second pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and surrounded the top recruit with a cornucopia of offensive-minded coaches, but who’d have actually thought the plan would have worked.

Better yet, who’d have thought the team would have a better record than the Eagles roughly halfway through the season?

Me neither but here we are, the Bears may be better than the Green Bay Packers. Imagine that?

And if their Week 9 performance is of any indication, the team could be good for a long time.

Playing in their first game without Khalil Mack of the season, as the all-world defensive difference maker missed the first game of his career with an ankle injury, the Bears made quick work of the lowly New York Jets, finishing out the game with a 24-10 win at Soldier Field, matching Trubisky’s win total from last year in only eight games.

Will this trend continue? Only time will tell, but things look bright in Chicago for the first time in quite a while.
