NFL Power Rankings, Week 8: Eagles collapse in fourth quarter during loss to Panthers

3. Kansas City Chiefs
Make that six games in a row for Patrick Mahomes II crossing the 300-yard passing mark with the Kansas City Chiefs, as the youngster continues to play at a MVP level after helping the team improve to 6-1 following Sunday night’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals. One week before, the Chiefs had suffered a heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots in a game that ended up being an absolute shootout, and seeing them bounce back the way they did was exactly what the team needed.
What Mahomes has been able to accomplish for Kansas City on offense this season is incredible to think about since the team knew there was some sort of risk in the offseason moving on from Alex Smith when they did since he was still playing some of his best football. However, Sunday was just another example of how thankful the Chiefs are to have the move when they did since one can only imagine this offense without Mahomes in 2018, mainly because it wouldn’t be nearly as exciting.
Even the defense for Kansas City managed to step up in a big way when looking at how much the unit in general has struggled throughout the regular season after holding Cincinnati to scoring just 10 points. Other than maybe the New England Patriots, it’s tough to imagine any team in the AFC stopping the Chiefs come playoff time when looking at the numbers they keep putting up on a weekly basis.
