24. Jacksonville Jaguars
Just when it seemed like things couldn’t get any worse for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans took place, as Doug Marrone’s team has now lost three games in a row while trailing their division rivals in the AFC South standings by a full game. Back at the beginning of September when they knocked off the New England Patriots for a major statement win, the Jaguars looked like a team that picked right up where they left off the year before as a top contender in the AFC.
Instead, Jacksonville’s defense has looked absolutely horrendous over the last three games, and the sad thing is it doesn’t look like the unit is going to improve anytime soon. The Jaguars’ defense was the whole reason why the team was able to reach the AFC Championship last January, but also this team is dealing with numerous issues on offense as well, which is why seeing them lose three in a row isn’t really all that surprising.
On another note, how crazy was it to see Jacksonville bench Blake Bortles? When looking at all of the questions surrounding Bortles over the years along with the extension he received in the offseason, the Jaguars may have a serious issue at the quarterback position after the former first-round pick was benched in the loss to the Texans.
