Preseason NBA Power Rankings: Philadelphia 76ers look like Eastern Elite
30. Orlando Magic
Is there any team in the NBA with a lower ceiling than the Orlando Magic?
Now don’t get me wrong, the team has a few bright spots, including a pair of high upside lottery, picks like 2017 first round pick Johnathan Isaac, and 2018 first round pick Mo Bamba (who just so happens to be the namesake of one of the best songs of the year), but this team is seriously devoid of talent all over the roster.
With arguably the worst point guard tandem in the entire league in incumbent starter D.J. Augustine and recently acquired guard Jerian Grant, the younger brother of former Sixer Jerami, it’s going to be seriously hard for the Magic to score points regardless of the opponent.
After spending the better part of the last decade with a losing record, the Magic have finally decided to move on from Frank Vogel, the owner of a 54-110 record, however, even the addition of Steve Clifford likely won’t bring back the glory days of Shaq and Dwight Howard to the Magic Kingdom.
But hey, at least fans of the team can look forward to another high draft pick, and plenty of excitement from Bamba both on the court and in the club It could be worse I guess.
