31. Indianapolis Colts

When looking at how the Indianapolis Colts were already shorthanded before Thursday’s game against the New England Patriots, nobody should be surprised over the fact that it got worse throughout the contest. Playing a strong contender like the Patriots on the road was already a difficult challenge for the Colts, and for the second week in a row, a slow start by the team resulted in a situation of too little, too late for Frank Reich’s squad.

Indianapolis is arguably one of those teams that seems better than their record indicates since they only have one win through the first five games, but an excuse like this doesn’t really mean anything if it results in them falling short of the playoffs. But if the Colts are looking to remain positive, at least Andrew Luck continuing to prove there are no complications from his shoulder is a good sign since that was a major concern heading in.

Luck has always been the kind of player that can be best described as one of the toughest quarterbacks in the NFL, but Indianapolis needs to figure out a way to have him throw less in games. Seeing Luck toss 59 passes against the Patriots less than a week after throwing 62 times against the Houston Texans is simply unacceptable, and Indianapolis needs to put their quarterback in better positions over the next few weeks.
