2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 6: Eagles lose tough battle of NFC Championship rematch

32. San Francisco 49ers
Life without Jimmy Garoppolo has been a struggle for the most part when it comes to the San Francisco 49ers, as this team has quickly gone from a potential sleeper contender in the NFC to looking like a squad that may only win two or three games at best the rest of the way. Nobody needs to explain the kind of impact Garoppolo made when under center since he seemed to bring out the best in his teammates like plenty of other quarterbacks across the league, but it still doesn’t make this situation any easier to deal with.
Hosting the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday seemed like it would be San Francisco’s best chance of earning a win, so to see them come out on the losing end the way they did was beyond frustrating to see. Not to mention, the 49ers seemed to have a slight advantage facing a rookie quarterback in Josh Rosen, which obviously wasn’t the case when seeing how the team went on to lose the game 28-18.
No matter how hard C.J. Beathard tries, a backup quarterback like him can only do so much on his own without the proper support from the rest of his teammates on offense. Throwing for 349 yards with two touchdowns was great, but the four turnovers by Beathard ended up being costly for the 49ers.
