Prediction

Last week, we picked the Eagles to win over the Titans, a prediction that looked good until the team blew a 14-point lead and then lost in overtime. We sit at 2-2 on the season in our picks and will look to move to 3-2 on the season with Sunday’s result.

This game has the looks of a must-win for both teams, as the Eagles are 2-2 and do not want to fall back in the NFC East race by falling under .500. For the Vikings, they are 1-2-1 and also do not want to fall behind in the NFC North race. It is surprising that two teams that were the top finishers in the NFC last year are in danger of falling behind this early in the season.

Wentz should continue to improve and get less rusty, but his success will depend on the success of the Eagles’ offensive line. If the line can give him time in the pocket then the Eagles receivers should be able to make plays and Wentz should be able to hit them.

On defense, being at home should help the Eagles, but they are still going to have to improve, especially in the secondary. The run defense should be fine, but can the Eagles slow down the Vikings passing game and get to Cousins?

Last week, Doug Pederson was not overall too aggressive, that is something that needs to change this week. This game may come down to whichever team makes more big plays, and whoever makes a big play late in the game.

This will be a close hard fought battle between two desperate teams that will come down to the end. The Eagles being at home will serve to an advantage here. Philadelphia will make another key late defensive stop to lead them to a close win and move to 3-2 on the season.
