The Philadelphia Eagles return home on Sunday to take on the Minnesota Vikings, and will look to bounce back after a crushing loss last week.

Last week in Nashville, the Philadelphia Eagles suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the Tennessee Titans. The Eagles blew a 17-3 lead, and eventually fell to the Titans 26-23 in overtime.

On Sunday, the Eagles return home sitting at 2-2, to take on the Minnesota Vikings.

Philadelphia did not lose their second game last season until Dec. 3, so this is unfamiliar territory for the Eagles and their fans. It may be early, but looking at how good the Los Angeles Rams have looked so far, the Eagles will need to start to roll off a bunch of wins if they want a chance at home field in the NFC for the second-straight year. That means winning at home and on the road.

This will be a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship game as the Minnesota Vikings come to town. As everyone remembers, the Eagles thrashed the Vikings last January, winning 38-7 and moving on to the Super Bowl, a game in which Philadelphia won.

Both teams though, have different starting quarterbacks then they did in that NFC Championship matchup. Case Keenum walked in free agency, signing with the Denver Broncos, and the Vikings signed Kirk Cousins to a lucrative contract to take Keenum’s case.

The Eagles had Nick Foles starting at quarterback in that NFC Championship game while Carson Wentz was recovering from a torn ACL. With Wentz now healthy, Foles has returned to his backup role and Wentz will square off against the Vikings on Sunday.

Both these times have yet to really find their footing so far. The Vikings sit at 1-2-1 and suffered a crushing loss at home to a bad Buffalo Bills team, while the Eagles sit at 2-2 and have struggled on the road, and their wins at home have not been too pretty.
