17. Atlanta Falcons

When looking at all of the points the Atlanta Falcons have put up over their last three games, it’s amazing to consider they only have one win to show for it since this team could easily be sitting at 4-0, only to be 1-3 instead. Even more frustrating, the Falcons appeared to be on their way to defeating the Bengals before A.J. Green caught the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds, which really isn’t all that surprising when looking at how this season has been.

Each of Atlanta’s three losses have come right down to the wire, and seeing them struggle to close out games seems like a reason for concern since every win is going to be extremely important in the NFC. Instead of the Falcons’ defense picking up where they left off from last year, the unit just can’t seem to stop anyone these days, and as a result it’s hurt the team as a whole.

Watching Matt Ryan take advantage of a high-powered offense consisting of Calvin Ridley (six touchdowns over last three games) breaking out as a rookie along with Julio Jones continuing to be a serious threat makes all of this even more frustrating to see take place. An offense can only do so much on their own without the proper support from the other side of the football, so it’s time for Atlanta’s defense to step it up.
