2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 5: Eagles miss out on chance to take down Titans
By Dan Parzych
24. Houston Texans
After weeks of frustration, the Houston Texans finally earned their first win of the 2018 season thanks to a big overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts, taking some of the pressure off Bill O’Brien as the result. Thanks to key players in Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt finally getting healthy after missing a good amount of last season, the Texans were expected to be one of the teams in the AFC that worked their way back into the mix of a top playoff contender.
Based off the first month of action, Houston still has a long way to go if that’s going to have any chance of happening, but at least they no longer have to worry about earning that first win. Even if the argument can be made that Indianapolis gave them a gift by going for it on fourth down on a questionable call in overtime, all that matters is Houston won the game.
Talent wise, the Texans seem to have one of the best overall teams the NFL has to offer, and now comes the importance of putting together a few more wins in October to put themselves in better shape for the second half of the regular season. 1-3 may not be an attractive way to begin the season, but luckily Houston still has plenty of time to turn things around before it’s too late.
