Temple Football: 3-keys to a road win at Boston College
By Pete Long
The Temple Football Owls are riding a hot streak into their road trip to Chestnut Hill (not that Chestnut Hill) this weekend. Will they be able to keep the momentum going as the underdog against a formidable opponent?
After defeating Maryland on the road and picking up their first in-conference win against Tulsa at home, the Temple Owls have packed their bags to head north for their next road test. The Owls entered the week as double-digit underdogs and the line currently sits at 13 points.
Temple stares down a Boston College squad coming off a roller coaster ride of a week. BC cracked the AP Top-25, ranked 23rd, then proceeded to have their helmets handed to them at Purdue by a team that entered the game 0-3.
Just like that, the Eagles slipped out of the rankings altogether.
The Owls are no stranger to BC’s scheme. Coach Steve Addazio was the head honcho at Temple for a two-year stint before coming to Chestnut Hill going 13-11 in 24 games. Meanwhile, Geoff Collins has yet to win over many fans in North Philly and has a lot to prove. A win against the top-ranked team in the ACC Atlantic Division might be enough to earn the support of doubters.
With all of the circumstances surrounding the game for both teams, it is going to come down to execution and big players making big plays. Here are my three keys to keep the fire burning and secure another victory for the Owls.
