29. New York Jets

The last thing the New York Jets wanted to do was be the team that allowed the Cleveland Browns to earn their first win since the 2016 season since the team knew they would never hear the end of it. Unfortunately, the Jets were unprepared for the impact Baker Mayfield ended up making after replacing Tyrod Taylor before halftime after the veteran quarterback left the game with an injury, and the rest is history.

After that first win of the season on the road against the Detroit Lions, the Jets looked like a team that seemed capable of being a surprise contender in the AFC with Sam Darnold under center. And while that may very well still end up happening, Thursday’s game made it clear made it clear that Darnold still has a lot of learning to do, which is completely fine since New York knew this was going to be a strong possibility.

Still, some of the decision making by Darnold towards the end of the game against the Browns along with his costly turnovers resulted in the Jets being the victims of allowing Cleveland to finally earn that win. This may seem painful to think about, but the best thing New York can do is just move forward instead of kicking themselves over what happened in this one, or it’s going to drive them crazy heading into next weekend.
