2018 NFL Power Rankings Week 4: Eagles earn tough win in Carson Wentz’s return

2. Kansas City Chiefs
One of the most impressive factors surrounding the Kansas City Chiefs during this first month of the 2018 season has been watching them defeat teams the way they have, despite not playing their first home game until Week 3. Without question, the decision by the Chiefs to replace Alex Smith with Patrick Mahomes II has been working wonders for this offense, and the former first-round pick continues to play at a high level after another strong outing on Sunday.
Tossing three more touchdowns may not seem like that big of a deal for someone like Mahomes on paper, but also keep in mind this brings his total to 13 on the young season, and he has yet to throw a single interception. The youngster still has a long way to go when it comes to proving himself as a top quarterback in the league since it’s only September, but Mahomes could easily find his name in the MVP conversation when the time comes down the road, assuming the Chiefs quarterback continues to play at this amazing level.
Kansas City was expected to be a serious contender in the AFC, and it’s tough not to consider them the favorites in the conference when looking at how great this team has looked so far. The Chiefs did an amazing job at building a solid offense around Mahomes, and it’s even more amazing to see him make the best of being part of this unit.
